Originally number 22 in my 'Year of Music' series, I've given this a new cover image and the title '... darkness is your candle'.
The musical content of this mix straddles the space between ambient and neo-classical / modern classical. To me it has a melancholic feel with elements of hope within in periods, so I've borrowed a partial quote from Rumi, if you don't know his works, then I'd encourage you to spend some time with him. The quote, as I remember it is 'What hurts you, blesses you. Darkness is your candle'. For me it says that we learn from the things that hurt us, the pain we go through shows us the way forward. It's not an easy path, but everyone must walk it at some points of life and it felt like the music on this mix sat very well with this.
The cover is a mix of using Ai and my own tinkering / design inputs, I think it turned out really nicely.
